You entered one or more multi-byte characters into a fixed-length field, which resulted in the limit for the number of bytes being exceeded. In Japanese and some other languages a typed character can have more than one byte associated with it: so although the entry field will allow you to type the characters in, the number of bytes exceeds the field limit.
