Edit a Record

With datavseq.dat displayed using the structure file, select the record for Mr Plastow, then click

(Edit Record) in the Editing group.

Select the value for 03 EM-POSITION field.

Change the value to M, then click

(Save Record).

Tip: When editing records and fields, you can edit in Overwrite or Insert mode, which works much the same as it does on any conventional word processing package. Click Ins to toggle between the modes; the current mode (INS or OVR) is displayed in the status bar at the bottom of the screen.

The record is saved, and because the field now satisfies the condition for one of the conditional layouts configured earlier (MANAGER-REC), the record now uses the new layout. If you also re-apply the previous filter, this record is now included in the results.
